Home Remodeling

It’s easy! No matter what kind of project you’d like to take on, the process is as simple as reaching out to Midwest Construction. Give us a call to discuss your home remodeling ideas with an experienced representative and to schedule a free in-home consultation at a date and time that suits you. If you want to get started right now, you don’t even have to call! You can fill out our quick online form, and we’ll contact you to set up your free appointment.

Your in-home consultation will be an informational and educational meeting with one of our trained remodeling professionals. Our team member will first and foremost listen to your remodeling ideas, priorities, needs, and budget. Then you’ll be able to discuss specific product options, view product samples, and ask any questions you might have. Lastly, your consultant will take measurements in order to provide a detailed cost estimate for your project.

“Renovation” and “remodel” are similar but distinct terms. A renovation usually means repairing or restoring an existing feature in your home, like replacing an old window. A remodel, on the other hand, is intended to alter the appearance or functionality of the space. A completely new window installation—one that upgrades your home’s energy efficiency with more thermally insulated frames and glass—would be an example of a remodel.

Of course! We love to show off our work. Please check out our gallery of past projects to see some examples of our windows, sunrooms, siding, and more.

The exact timeline will depend on the scope of the project, but our professional installers typically complete projects in the following timeframes:

  • 1 to 4 days for window replacements
  • 1 to 2 weeks for siding replacements

Not much! We simply request that you remove any personal belongings from the area so that they are safely out of the way. Please be sure to take any pictures off the walls to avoid potential breakage as well. When our installers arrive, they’ll get to work!

It is against the law in most states for a contractor to negotiate with an insurance company on
behalf of a policyholder.

We have found that it is most efficient for all homeowners and decision-makers to engage in the
consultation. This way everyone's ideas and concerns regarding style, scope, budget, and
timeframe can be considered. We value our customers' time as much as our own.

Usually, 60-90 minutes depends on the scope of the project and questions.

Energy Star defines U-Factor as how well the window insulates. It measures the heat transfer through a window. A low U-Factor indicates a greater resistance to heat flow (in and out) and a better insulation value.

No. Windows do not cause condensation. But windows are often the first place where condensation can be seen. Think about it, you're probably not surprised or concerned when your bathroom mirror becomes fogged after a hot shower. Your car windows fog up in humid weather or in winter when you have several passengers. And although condensation usually occurs in cold weather, it can occur during humid months when air conditioning is running. The mirror or car windows don't cause condensation, these are just the first places you see condensation.

Condensation forms when warm, humid air contacts a cold surface. Moisture is in the air all around us and warmer air can hold more moisture. As air cools, it contracts, and its moisture condenses. When the temperature drops, the first place you will see any condensation is on the windows. Your windows are the coldest surfaces indoors. During colder months, indoor air is much warmer and holds more moisture than outdoor air, which is colder and dry. Warm, humid indoor air cools and contracts; as it contacts the cooler windows, the moisture condenses on the glass.

If your old windows were drafty, those cracks did more than just let in the wind; they allowed excess moisture to escape outdoors. Your new windows are better insulated, so indoor humidity can't escape. Windows do not cause condensation and they also can't eliminate condensation. Your windows are alerting you to excess humidity in your home.

Vinyl siding Is little to no maintenance. No painting, staining, caulking or sealing your vinyl or composite siding. We only offer highly durable and low-maintenance siding options to withstand various weather conditions.

Cleaning your vinyl siding with a garden hose and a mild soap, when necessary, should do the trick.

Yes, most projects can be done year-round. Roofing and gutters are done when the temperature permits.

Midwest Construction recommends placing the dumpster for your project on your driveway or if possible in the street. We veer away from placing dumpsters in our customer's yards to avoid damaging the grass or leaving ruts. But it is ultimately up to the homeowner, but we like make sure our homeowners are aware of the cons of placing it in the yard.
