Bill and Helens home was built in the 1930’s and had been sided 15 years ago with some very inexpensive vinyl siding and some poor installation techniques. At the same time the homeowners had new insulation blown into the sidewalls hoping it would help the problem.

The home owners were tired of the heater running every 5-10 minutes and the house was still cold and in the summer the Air conditioner running all day and the home was still uncomfortable.

Midwest Construction removed the existing vinyl siding and discover the home was insulated with sheet of EPS foam and then vinyl siding was installed over that. All materials were removed from the exterior walls of the home and hauled away in a dumpster provided by Midwest Construction.

All of the exterior walls were prepared by: replacing any soft or rotten sheathing, all exterior walls were wrapped with house wrap, install window and door protective tape around all windows and door openings. Since the homeowners need as much insulation as they could get on the exterior walls of the home Midwest Construction installed Progressive Foams product called Half Back H2O a universal siding insulation with Neopor to provide the highest R-Value for the home owners.

Once the house walls were prepared the crews took there time to custom bend Aluminum PVC coil stock to cover all of the exterior window sills and casings and all door casings to end the painting and maintenance.

The home owners choose the Double 6 - American Classic Insulated siding system in Wedgewood Blue with Home Accent Designer shakes on the front of the home and the entry way.  The job site is cleaned up daily and all tools secured for the home owner’s peace of mind and comfort.

As I was on the job speaking with the installers they noticed the furnace was not running as much as they finished up the north wall compared to as when they were removing the siding.
